I see these at tower, and of course I’ve read about them at the iwaver site with a June 06 release date. plus I see the odd posting here, but has anyone gotten his hands on one? Have the even been release, tower just keeps pushing the date they’ll be in stock back.

last i heard the electronics were in the testing phase, but kept failing and had to be sent back to Iwaver for more R&D. I'd much rather spend my money on a mini-z, soley based on the fact that is it kyosho quality, that will not crap out on me. The new iwavers have a good design, but poor attempt to create it with the use of slapdash R&D and lack of extensive testing of the electronics and materials.

maybe the reason they havn't released it yet is because they are trying to actually put out a quality vehicle. Their reputation precedes the product release and I think their sales are hurting because more and more people are knowledgeable about their quality issues. Or maybe they're just overwhealmed with the extra load of providing PCB's for the new kyosho i-nascars.

i thought they have been out for a while?
the design looks decent, but PCB is still questionable.

the main thing it has going for its design is plug in connectors for the motor, and three wire servos and a modular esc. Odd that the most desireable features are the ones that would allow you to more easily swap in parts that weren't i-waver parts.

Just like real cars, some you hop-up for racing and some you dub just to show off. At least for me anyway, some of this hobby is more of a collection. I have cars that I would never race, one, they can’t compete. and two, I’ve invested to much money in them. I see the limitation of an iwaver, but, who ever dies with the most toys wins. Same goes for the I-nascar.

i agree.
I'm probably more into the collection aspect with all the bodies instead of running them. I currently only run my painted C5-R and will run the 2005 NSX on my mr02.

besides before the mini-z I was already into collecting model cars, so doesn't bother me adding these body into my collection.
