I HAVEN'T TESTED IT AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT WORKS OR IS SAFE SO TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!

the idea came today as i thought of what to do with an old power amplifier i got out of a scanner that powered a cold cathode light... and i wondered if i hooked it up to my cheap 10 dollar wall mart rc would it make the motor burn out or drive... or would it burn out the electronics... i would try it with a cheap motor but my cheap rc is broken at the moment

cold cathode tubes and el-wire use power inverters. You don't power a DC motor with a power inverter.

You'll want a DC/DC converter. It's not hard to find one that will let you shift 3v up to 5v or more.

That, or just add more cells.
