I have been wanting to add to my digi q tank board. My idea was to take a SE and make it fit into a military 2.5 ton truck to run around with my tanks.
This is what I came up with without too much work.
The front end is all SE and the rear is geared down using another se steering gearbox. It drives all four wheels on the rear using se axles. It does pretty good but could use some improvements. I used a cheap HO scale military 2.5 ton truck body and rear frame for carrying the axles and holding down the gear box. The detailing needs improving and the body has been quick mounted.
The battery doesnt last very long but there is room for more batteries in the future.
With the weather cold (snowing today) I made this up yesterday.
Enough of my babbling here is some pics.
Its been a while so I hope I can remember how this works...lol

One more for the gipper?
This suppose to be a wet area, and the truck actually does slip a bit when going thru the slick "muddy" area....lol

Neeto! I like how you used the entire se chassis. Did you just add another rear end? Can we get some chassis shots?
Nice scenery too! Good job!

Atcually the original chasis was a bit short on wheel base. So i cut it off right at the rear axle. Then glued on the rear prtion of the cheap truck to hold the axles and the gear box.
Here are some pics.
I think im going to add another battery now for a little bit better run times,(parallel).

Oh WOW! That's possibly one of the best projects I've seen all year! Keep up the great work, and if you can, post up a video!

Sweet project, and track! I just got a set of DigiQ's and would love to battle on that, they really are amazing R/C's. I second the video comment that would be sweet.

I did just add some lights. I used the same se lights that come off a car. Looks awsome too.
I dont have a video camera to take any vids. waaa
Well actually i do have a still cam that is suppose to be able to take some not so nice vid shots. I will try to see if that will work.
I also put in a second battery for better runs times. On my first run with fresh batteries and 8 1 min charges (yea pushing things a bit here) it ran for 31 minutes. Holy toledo! But last night with the lights hooked up all i could get was 6 min run times. Course I still need to try it with fresh batteries.
I started hacking on another one. Trying for more ground clearance. But i think it might take a little longer to figure it out. Iam also wanting to get some kinda articulation going too.

Brilliant work man, I really like this. It's a great way to build a TTTT style truck, without paying big $ or building from brass. so another big thumbs up for creativity.
TIP : For the lights, find a LR44 battery (watch battery), and tape it inside the car, hook the lights up to that with a switch, it would give many hours of power to the lights, and won't sacrifice your runtime!

Oh My goodness. I just installed new batteries and charged the Duece 8 times. Each 1 min on the original charger. Then ran for a total of 46 minutes!! Man oh man I cant hardly believe it. I ran it on flat surface, no hills and with the lights hooked up in the stock mode, (forward front lights, backward rear lights).
Next I am going to see how it does on rechargables. Stay tuned!!
Keep in mind i now have two stock battieries in it running in parallel to keep it at stock voltage but better run times. Never thought i could get this much time out of it.

heck, it looks like you might be able to fit some more batts in there.
and then go for the long haul.

Fit yea, but steady with that one! He's running 4.8v!(SE cells are dual cells = 2.4) any more and I'd say the PCB will be toast.
Any pics with the lights?!!!

No pics with lights yet. Iam trying to figure how to get a vid posted. My still camera takes some short vids in not so good quality and in Quicktime format?. Not sure how to make it work to post here??? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
It is only running 2.4 volts. But running two batteries in parallel for longer run times. With the lights and the additional battery and the way the pcb must fit, its getting pretty stuffed under that body.
But iam very happy with the way it runs and the way it climbs around on my tank board.
The only things I wish I could get is more ground clearance and sharper turning radius. But I got another in the works?????

make an account on photobucket.com, you can upload video's there, whatever format.
Alternatively, email me on my msn messenger address in my profile, with the video attached, and I'll convert/edit/post it for you.

Garcol, that Is one great looking Duece! Your pics made me dig out my Digi-q tanks and start working on my battlefield again. Also, great idea powering both rear axles, that truck must have some serious power! For videos, I made an account at putfile a while ago and it worked fine to upload a quicktime movie I had. Hope to see your pictures soon.

With time being tight, a friend just out of surgery, (doing great too). And my other repairs on real cars/tractors etc. I will try to get a vid posted soon. Thanks for the compliments/advice and patience.
