Well, now that i have currently acquired a mini quake, i figured i'd enlighten everyone on all my little problems and dilemmas i have with it.
Ok, so, what kind of wheels and tires can i use? The stock ones just aren't cutting it for me. The rims are plain, but duratrax only sells replacements and chrome ones. I've looked at the wheels on my minizilla, and they attach in a different way. So i was wondering if there are any other rims i could get for it that would fit, other than buying mini-t tire adapters and using mini-t wheels and tires. I'll probably have more questions as this thing progresses. lol -------------------- |

1/18 size, right?
Is there a hex piece that the wheels go over? -------------------- I am a man of few words. (I often contradict myself though...)

Yeah, it's 1/18th.
But it's really weird. It's this long cylindrical piece that has this rectangle cutout on the inside. And that slides over onto a little rectangle thing from the drive shatfts. And they're secured by a long machine screw. It's really weird. Does anyone on here have one or has had one? -------------------- |

ok, let me make sure you are asking what i think you are asking:
you want to know where to get/if there are after market wheels for a miniquake, as opposed to using adapters and then using mini-t wheels right? well the answer is yes. do what i did. go to google.com type in "mini quake wheels" then click shopping. TADA!! OR go to tower hobbies and search for mini quake wheels. they have 3 different types. This post has been edited by scarr: Mar 1 2009, 05:09 PM -------------------- Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, Trash it, change it, melt - upgrade it, Charge it, point it, zoom it, press it, Snap it, work it, quick - erase it,
Write it, cut it, paste it, save it, Load it, check it, quick - rewrite it, Plug it, play it, burn it, rip it, Drag it, drop it, zip - unzip it, Lock it, fill it, call it, find it, View it, coat it, jam - unlock it, Surf it, scroll it, pose it, click it, Cross it, crack it, switch - update it, Name it, rate it, tune it, print it, Scan it, send it, fax - rename it, Touch it, bring it, pay it, watch it, Turn it, leave it, start - format it. |

from what i get, he's not interested in the three aftermarket wheels that are made for mq (in my opinion they kinda suck). He is looking for something better.

The mini quake isn't the most popular car. Personally I think you'll do better in the 1:10 world
Oh, and then there are a ton of tires too. Hmm, maybe you can look for adapters for 1:10 scale rims? The variety should satisfy your urge. -------------------- I am a man of few words. (I often contradict myself though...)

ehh, i guess i'll just shoot for mini-t wheel adapters. sorry for all the confusion. yeah, i dont like the two rim styles that they sell, and i'm not so much a fan of the three tire choices. i guess i can dish out the 10 bucks for mini-t wheel adapters. dang. oh well.
but on the brighter side of things, my dad bought me a set of pro-line dirt hawgs, so they'll be coming in soon. i bought some deans ultra plugs for it, some turnbuckles, and a traxxas tq3 system. hopefully it all comes in soon. -------------------- |
